Big Brother comes back every summer with a new set of House Guests, usually strangers to one another. They are shut in a house with no contact from their families and are not allowed to receive news from the outside world. There are cameras in every room watching their every move. Besides the three hours each week on CBS (Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings) there are live feeds available to watch 24 hours a day so they know they are being watched at all times. Showtime also airs the live feeds every night for several hours. The House Guests must compete in a variety of competitions in order to secure positions of power or to keep themselves from being deprived of normal foods. Once a week someone is voted out of the house by the other House Guests until only one person remains. The prize is a half million dollars.
